Test Flight

June 1, 2004

The Phase I hours have been flown off with an entry in the logbook stating the aircraft is airworthy.  Today was Lori's maiden voyage in N712RL.  Now she has that silly grin on her face too.  These are a couple of photo's she took as we circled the mountain range behind town.  The little lake usually dries up in the fall, and it takes 5 hours of serious four-wheeling to get to.

The morning was calm and we registered an average of 168 MPH ground speed for most of the flying time.  I have an operating handbook (almost 2MB) if anyone wants it I can send it to them.  But, the airplane stalls clean at 60 MPH with no flaps, and near 57 MPH from 1/2 - Full flaps, at gross weight.  We are now planning our first cross country trip... with no wheel pants or leg fairings.  We hope to get them installed in late June and July.  More to come....
