Next,
sometime around the first of April, we went on a death-defying hike to the
top of one of our local mountain tops. Blue Mountain, associated
with its distant bluish color, elevates to over 7300 feet MSL. The road stopped
us from driving any further at about 5300 feet MSL. So, the climb to
the top was about 2000 feet. Luckily it was a cool day. Below are some shots from
this journey.
The picture indicating the END at the top of the mountain really doesn't justify the
top. The top is actually far behind the peak to the left and also
much higher in elevation. When we got home we soaked our 'dogs' in hot
water. No blisters, but plenty of tender feet. Next time we
will wear two pair of socks.
