This was our first stop along the way to the trailhead. This is one
beautiful river. Loved it! It is called Middle Eagle Creek and flows
from Eagle Lake. |
|
The hike in to base camp is 5 miles. After hiking about 1/2 mile we
crossed a nice bridge.
|
Lori's pack was 45 pounds and Rick's was 62 pounds. We struggled in
our young age to base camp.
 |
|
There
were some nice small waterfalls along the way, which made for some good
places to get fresh drinking water.
|
|
Base
camp is just over the rise in the green area. |
This little doe fell in love with Rick and wouldn't take 'NO' for an
answer. She wanted Rick's attention and wouldn't have anything to do
with Lori. |
|

This hike was to Looking Glass Lake. The journey from base camp was
extremely long and beautiful. |
|
This photo is looking toward Eagle Lake.
|
This is our first view of Looking Glass Lake. This hike is a must for
any first time visit to the country. |
A collage of the lake here. |
The next day we hiked to Eagle Lake; which, to our surprise is actually
dammed by the Corp of Engineers.
