Back to Beautiful Wife   Eagle Cap Wilderness, Oregon 2002

This was our first stop along the way to the trailhead. This is one beautiful river. Loved it!  It is called Middle Eagle Creek and flows from Eagle Lake.

The hike in to base camp is 5 miles.  After hiking about 1/2 mile we crossed a nice bridge.

Lori's pack was 45 pounds and Rick's was 62 pounds.  We struggled in our young age to base camp.

There were some nice small waterfalls along the way, which made for some good places to get fresh drinking water.

Base camp is just over the rise in the green area.

This little doe fell in love with Rick and wouldn't take 'NO' for an answer.  She wanted Rick's attention and wouldn't have anything to do with Lori.

This hike was to Looking Glass Lake.  The journey from base camp was extremely long and beautiful.

This photo is looking toward Eagle Lake.

This is our first view of Looking Glass Lake.  This hike is a must for any first time visit to the country.
A collage of the lake here.
The next day we hiked to Eagle Lake; which, to our surprise is actually dammed by the Corp of Engineers.
