          Sedona, Arizona 2004

On our way to Sedona, Arizona, we flew over the western tip of the Grand Canyon.  The Grand Canyon is a spectacular view from the air, and , I've also heard it is even more splendid from the water.  If a person ever has an opportunity to take a float trip down the Colorado, through the Grand Canyon, don't pass it up.
Another shot of the Grand Canyon.
Unfortunately we didn't get a picture of the approach to Sedona, Arizona airport, but this a picture of the departure.  When landing at Sedona you definitely want to make sure you don't make a short approach, as the air strip begins right at the top of the mesa.
I don't know the names of these rocks, but there were people in white ropes worshiping them when we drove up to the bluffs below.  There is something about the magnetic differences in the region that draw many people here.
Another shot of the region.
I wish we would have had time to climb to the tops of some of these formations.
A closer shot of the one above.
This bluff stands right above Sedona.
The streets of Sedona are right below this bluff.  Kind of cool with the rocks above town. What we found amazing was the amount of people in white robes worshiping the magnetic vortex's that are popular with this area.
On our way to Flagstaff we stopped for a hike.  What we found was an old homestead.  We couldn't help but wonder who owns this property and why they hadn't resurrected the property.  It had apple orchards and quite a bit of water was available.
This was an outside BBQ area just above the homestead.
This is a shot from inside of the home.
Pretty cool that they had a window shaped like this.  This was a real nice home it its time.
We concluded this small cave was for keeping food cool in the summer.  It was about 50 degrees inside.
Further up the canyon the walls were near vertical and the water was still flowing even in mid summer.  This would have made a really nice place to live.
On our way back home we stopped in Mesquite, Nevada.  The golf course is located just below the airport.  This would be a great place to play golf in the winter months.  I've heard the grass is forever green here and the course is difficult because you can't always see the next green.
