Disney World, June, 2006 |

The pool was located about 500 feet from our rooms, so it made a nice
place to relax after traveling all day. I can't remember how many
airports and airplanes it took to get to Florida, but it was quite a few.
The pictures in this web site all show fair weather. In reality, I've never seen it rain so much. We live in the desert so the rain was partly welcome. It must have rained half the time we were there. |

For the sake of time I didn't place all the pictures on this web site. Only the ones that turned out good. The family photo's I shared with the family's so I thought I'd just show some of the views here. This picture looks like they have transported the Golden Gate bridge from California. Actually, the picture is just that, it's a painting on a giant backdrop; and it looks pretty real with how they have made the buildings smaller as they get closer to the backdrop. Cool. |

Don't miss a ride on the monorail. Because the different Disney Worlds are so far apart, the monorail or the bus system are the best means of transportation. |

The Epcot ball can be seen in the background. I think this is where we stopped to watch the fireworks one evening. The fireworks are work seeing. |

After watching the fireworks, and on our way back to the rooms, we stopped and looked at this futuristic car. I can hardly wait for this model to come out. |

The castle is a classic of Disney. Again, I have to emphasize the amount of rain we had during our visit. We had plastic poncho's that we kept with us at all times. |

I think this is called the log-ride, not sure. Most of the good rides had long lines; unless it was raining cats-n-dogs. |

Thunder Mountain was one our favorite rides. If you have a fast download you can right-click on the following link (Train Ride), and then select "Save Target As" and save it to your hard drive. This way you can walk away for a bit while it downloads. The file is a 27MB video of the ride, pretty neat. I'll be searching for software to make the file smaller, but until then, this is the best it gets. |

Another picture of the monorail. We mostly used the bus system. Oh, another recommendation - if you are planning a trip to Disney World, make sure you go with someone who has already been there. We went with Mom and Dad and they knew the area and how to get around the best. |

I think this is Thunder Mountain. The ride reverses at the top of the mountain because the tracks end... then it reverses again before getting to the bottom of the hill. This is a great ride. In fact, when you come out of the mountain and it is raining outside, you can hardly see where you're going. Did I mention it raining a little? |
