Just as in 2005, we had another high snow yield in the hills, followed by
dramatic warming temperatures. And, just as in 2005, this resulted
in another flood plane along the Humboldt River. This picture was
actually taken a couple of weeks prior to the flooding. |

Lori and I jumped in our little plane and flew upstream a bit to get some
pictures. Normally the river follows a crooked narrow path through
the valley. |

And, as you can see here, the house located on the edge of the water
probably had water in their yard. We couldn't tell if there was any
water up to the house; as we like to keep our distance from homes when
flying. |

Normally there are cows feeding along the river banks here. I wonder
where they all went? |

I have heard the city had to spray a little extra for mosquito's this
year; with all the standing water. Looking ahead a year, we did not
have a flood in 2007, and there are concerns we might be entering a
drought season for the next few years. |
