Silver Springs, Nevada, fly-in is an annual event that brings in lots of
vendors and aircraft. Brent and I flew down for the day, had lunch,
and looked at the planes and exhibits. This is Brent standing in
front of a warplane. I'm not sure if it is Chinese or Japanese.
Another plane that I have no clue to what it is. All I know is that
was big. The radial engines on these baby's are enormous. I'm
sure it takes more than a gallon of fuel just to taxi to the runway.
I believe this is a Europa aircraft. It was really clean throughout.
Possibly a Stinson. Another clean plane. I'm updating these pictures
from over a year ago, so my memory and knowledge of aircraft are both
somewhat limited.
This aircraft is used for search and rescue and it floats on the water or
lands on the runway. The sheriff standing next to the plane is the
owner and he stated he flies it all over the place. Pretty cool!
This antique Harley is pretty neat. I'd love to have something like
this to put around on.
When I was a kid, my dad owned an older Willey's jeep like this one. He
had long since replaced the four-cylinder engine with a Chevrolet 283
cubic inch V8. There wasn't much room under the hood, but it sure
had a lot of power. When I looked under this jeeps hood I can't
believe we actually made the V8 fit.
