Well, it's 2007 and Brent and I are back at the destruction derby in
Lakeview, Oregon. We go every year and this is a must for anyone in
the area. Be sure to get your motel rooms early, because they sell
up fast. My dad lives in town so we always have a place to stay.
And no, that isn't cheating. |
 |
The car on the back of #22 stayed there for quite awhile. It took
quite a hit from another car to get them loose. |
 |
There were several fires this year. This one started on fire as they were
removing the cars for the next heap. |
 |
And, I don't remember for sure, but it seems this fire was also at the end
of a heap. To support my claim, I'm guessing the nice pickup's in
the upper right wouldn't be there if the smashing was still going on. |
 |
The trusty ol' fire department did a fine job. |
 |
Speaking of city officials, I do believe I see a cop car in the rear of
the field. You'll notice the big logs located around the edges. This
is to keep the cars from going outside the area and hitting one of the
reveries, or the fencing. |
 |
This is just half of the cars in the last heap. There were so many
cars that they were all getting in each other's way. |
 |
At times there was so much smoke you could hardly see the cars.
Yep, another great year at the Lakeview Rodeo and Destruction Derby.
I'll probably be back in 2009. Hope to see you there. |
