In early November, 2008, Lori and I loaded up the SUV, and the dogs, and
headed for the Oregon coast. Lori had rented a 3-story house in
Lincoln City. This picture is of the living room and kitchen areas
and is on the 2nd floor. It was a really nice home and the price was
fairly reasonable too. It must have been the off season.
We planned to see some high waves and swells and the weatherman claimed
we wouldn't be let down.
The first evening it was a little drizzly, the wind was blowing, and the
next thing we knew it was getting late.
The next morning we drove down to the aquarium. This little sea
otter was sure cute.
These little fishes looked like sardines. I'm not sure what they
were, but it would take a bunch of them to make a meal.
That evening we made our way down to the beach. The dogs were very
obedient and seemed more interested in the sea foam and birds than
anything else. We were afraid to let them off their leashes, afraid
they would run off. (They are still puppies.)
Nice picture here of the little birds on the shore and a B-1-R-D soaring
next to the sun. I wish I could paint as this would make a nice
framed painting.
The next day I left Lori at the beach house and drove down to Depot Bay to
see Lamar and Olga and see if I could get some shots of the beach.
This is Lori staying at the beach house.
A special bonus was that my cousin Ken was at Lamar and Olga's. We got in
a good quick visit. Always nice to see family.
The next day we went back down to Depot Bay and took some pictures of the
high seas. There was a storm brewing far out at sea and it was
bringing in some nice waves.
We stayed most of the day....
...and got wrapped up in the ferocity of the waves crashing on the rocks.
I would highly recommend Depot Bay to anyone wanting to see some up-close
wave action on the rocks.
Lamar and Olga joined us and took the photo for us.
More action...
... it was just amazing.
This was our last night at beach house resort.
The puppies seemed to have enjoyed themselves.
Just before dark there were people still on the beach. The wave action
brought in all kinds of pretty rocks and wood. Never know what
you'll find on the beach.
In fact, a story here. Lori found one of those glass balls with
special date and numbers on it. Cool!
The last night and the sunset was just amazing.
We had a great time and look forward to doing it again sometime.
