By the time these photo's were taken (February 28th) we had been living in
a rental home in Corrales for a couple of weeks. I talked Lori into
taking a hike. There was still snow in many parts of the trail so
she was quite the trooper to get out in the cold. This hike was from
the most Northern end of the Sandia Mountains along the Sandia trailhead. |
 |
The only wildlife we saw were some doves that kept eluding the camera.
I finally got a shot of one them here. |
 |
This is a shot of the parking lot where we came from. If you zoom in
you can see our SUV in the lot. We never did see the people in the
other vehicle. The total hike was about 5 miles. Not bad for
an afternoon. |
 |
This is a picture looking north. The mountains in the background are
the Jemez Mountains. They are a nice plce to camp in the summer
months. |
 |
This is looking south, up and along the ridgeline. We ended up
cutting down the mountain in the canyon you can kind of see at the bottom
right of the frame. The hike down the canyon was steep and full of
slippery boulders. |

I had to throw this in.... this is a picture of the puppies before we
actually adopted them. |
 |
And here they are full of adventure. They are definitely wanting to
rid themselves of those leashes. |
