I took a job in Albuquerque, NM on January 5th, 2009. It was an
advancement move and as an added bonus, I knew my boss and was excited to
be working for him again. On February 13th I drove back to
Winnemucca for our big move. Lori had stayed behind and worked at
selling the home.
This photo of an arch is somewhere between Albuquerque and Winnemucca. |

Same with this rock... can't be sure where is it located. But is
sure is cool looking. |
 |
I drove all day and arrived at Winnemucca at 4:30 a.m. the next day.
That sure was a long drive.
Lori was successful in selling the house in one day. She's
awesome. |
 |
Yep, I've lived in this house since Brent was one year old. He is
now 17. I had lived in Winnemucca for almost 24 years. It was
time to get out of Dodge... I had heard the weather was much milder in
Albuquerque too. |
 |
So, here we go. The big moving truck showed up and they put labels
on everything. They even boxed up our trash. Funny what they
will pack. |
 |
The movers would move into a room, tape up a box, stuff it with items and
paper, tape up the box, label which room it came out of, and then stack it
for shipping. I began to wonder how we would remember what was in
which box. |
 |
Lori and I had already packed most of the garage items. |
 |
Box after box. We filled up the entire moving truck with 18,000
pounds of stuff... |
 |
Oh, and the car too. They had to get the flatbed tow truck to get
the car into the moving truck.
Then... it was off to New Mexico. The adventure begins.... |
