Mom and dad arrived on Wednesday in their N5213V personal vacation flight
craft. It's a really cool retractable gear aircraft with upgraded
avionics.... I'm a bit jealous..... in case you can't tell.
The next morning we picked up dad's rental, a real nice Harley soft
tail edition. We went for a 300+ ride north of Albuquerque. I have
to admit, at the end of the day I was glad to get home to a nice cool
class of cool aid. It was a beautiful ride thought, most of which I
have never seen. New Mexico has some awesome wooded country. |
On Friday, Deseray and the grandkids arrived. You might think the
grand daughter is a favorite, because of the pictures, but I have to
admit, they're all my favorite. |
Our dogs melded quite nicely with the kids.... |
These two are about 18 months apart, but sometimes I wondered if the
smallest wasn't the smartest... :-) |
Tyson kept the two occupied much of the time... I'll have to thank him one
of these days. He is a great big brother. |
And we thought the doggie door was just for the dogs... The
grandkids proved us wrong.... |
We had corn on the cob, steaks, and who knows what else. It was a
great dinner. |
Dad is seen here on what might be seconds. |
Oh yeah. Me and the grand daughter. Don't she look cool in the
shades? |
About Saturday we decided to go to the hills to get out of the valley heat
and enjoy some of the breathtaking mountain views of the Santa Fe National
Forest. Here is a shot of mom and dad going for a stroll in the trees.
We didn't ask any questions about where they actually went.... |
Our beautiful daughter. The mother of our grand kids.... She is a
gem... |
Strike three...you're out. |
Grandpa is helping Tyson chop wood and Great Grandpa is helping to start
the fire. Cool! |
Me, dad, Tyson and mom are all enjoying a little weenie roasting time..... |
I'm thinking mom is roasting hot dogs for the kids. I think it is
the look of determination. She probably gave away the last three hot dogs
she roasted... |
But, not me... I ate them all.... good dogs, good times, and great
company. |
Back home we have a hot rod...... |
And this is the modern method of carrying your tools around with you. |
I thought about leaving this photo out, but since they climbed in
themselves and then laughed hard until we took pictures I decided to
include it. |
Tyson was able to win a few..... |
On Monday mom and dad left for home in their chariot. The Double
Eagle II is an nice airport. I'll have to inquire how dad felt about
the service later... |
We filled the pool up about 6 inches deep and the grandkids had a great
time cooling off from the heat. |
On Tuesday, Deseray, myself, and the grandkids visited the Bandelier
National Monument to see how the early natives lived in this part of the
country. |
They lived in caves in the hills in this valley. |
Show off.... |
The skills of the natives were quite unique. |
This was taken from one of the big rooms and looks outside to the old city
below. |
This room is huge. |
This the 'Long Wall' of the city and where many of the civilization lived. |
At the end of the day we headed home.
It was great having the family visit. My last wish is that we
could do this three of four times a year.
Love to all... |
